Kelli’s Calendula Salve

With Summer in full swing, you can make your own salve from your garden. This salve smells amazing, and can be used for all your summer skin problems like: cuts, abrasions, mild burns, eczema, bites, stings, and even diaper rash!

What you’ll need:

  1. Two cups of Calendula petals
  2. One cup of organic olive oil
  3. 1/4 cup of beeswax pastilles/pellets
  4. Ten drops of Lavender essential oil
  5. One tablespoon of vitamin E oil

Head to your garden and pick your petals and place them on a cooling rack to dry out in the sun. Once dry, pick the petals off the flower, and make sure they measure two cups. Combine the petals and olive oil in a stainless steel pot, and turn the stove on low. Let it bubble, stirring occasionally, for about three hours. Strain the petals out with a cheese cloth, getting as much oil out as you can. Add the beeswax pellets and stir on low heat until melted. Then, add the Lavender and vitamin E oils and stir. When done, put in your favorite glass jar, and enjoy!
